03 · OUR APPROACH

Our approach

How we build a read you can stand behind.

Seen exists because “visibility” split in two: classic search results and AI-generated answers. We built a pipeline that collects what the public record actually shows, checks what major answer engines return when people ask for options like yours, and turns that into plain-language priorities. Nothing here guarantees placement, rankings, or future mentions—we document what we observed at scan time.

Verified inputs first

Before we summarize, we assemble context from structured checks, permitted APIs, and search-backed retrieval—what we can actually access about your footprint. AI is used to organize and explain that evidence in a consistent format. If we cite a rating, a URL, or a presence claim, it is meant to trace back to what we sourced—not to a generic model guess.

Live answers, recorded for that scan

We run realistic customer-style queries against major AI answer products and retain what came back for that scan. That sits alongside listings, social signals, and category context in your report. Platforms and policies change; answers vary by region and day. We are explicit about what we saw when we looked.

Careful about “missing”

A wrong “missing” call can break trust. On high-impact surfaces we use multiple patterns and cross-checks before we treat you as absent—and we stay honest that no system catches every edge case every time.

Scores that stay comparable

Headline scores and category breakdowns use fixed weighting on your collected data so you can compare scan to scan. Narrative may use AI for wording; the numeric score is not arbitrary from run to run.

Coverage that matches your category

We maintain a broad registry of platforms and tune what applies to you from your public footprint—universal search and social layers plus industry-specific directories when they matter for how you are discovered.

Competitive context we stand behind

We filter competitive context so comparisons reflect what we actually observed in retrieved and live-check data—not names that only appeared in unconstrained model text. We do not publish point systems or comparative score gaps against competitors when we have not run the same depth of measurement on them.
